Founder, Editor-in-Chief

Jeff Yoder is the founder and editor-in-chief of The Sportsletter. He writes the entire newsletter every weeknight to make sure you start the next morning feeling like a sports genius. Jeff has eight years of experience in sports media, journalism, and digital marketing primarily in Indianapolis. He’s spent time working with the NCAA, Big Ten Conference, Indiana Pacers Sports & Entertainment, and the Indianapolis 500. He also wrote for Bleacher Report shortly after receiving bachelor’s degrees in sport management and media communication from Taylor University (2014) and a master’s degree in sports journalism from Indiana University (2016).

He’s a fan of storylines and statistics, whether it’s late-game drama, incredible comebacks, or record-breaking performances. Most of all, his passion for storytelling shines through celebrating the underdog stories in sports. You’ll see those features under the footer of the newsletter 1-2 times a week.

Chief Operating Officer

Carina Cho is the Chief Operating Officer of The Sportsletter. She has a background in marketing, VC, and design as well as a BBA in Strategic Design & Management from The New School. She is also the COO of Media Mobilize (an online ad network, marketing agency, and media company).

Growing up playing a variety of sports, Carina has a fondness for any sport in the Winter Olympics and likes to cheer on the players from the sidelines.

Matthew Cahill is the marketing assistant, or the ‘glue guy’ to The Sportsletter team. Matthew joined November 2020 and handles social media, growth initiatives, and occasionally writes content for The Sportsletter. He graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in marketing & advertising and is an avid lover of all sports, both playing and watching them his entire life.

 

 

 


TIM HSIA

Tim Hsia is the CEO & Founder of Media Mobilize, a media company based in San Francisco that publishes a family of newsletters. Tim is a distinguished honor graduate of West Point where he commissioned as an infantry officer in the US Army and deployed twice to Iraq. In the Army, he wrote about his military experience for the New York Times and has published essays in the Los Angeles Times, Small Wars Journal, and Armed Forces Journal. After leaving active duty, Tim graduated from Stanford University’s JD/MBA program. He is also the co-founder of Service to School, a nonprofit that helps veterans successfully apply to higher education programs.

Tim loves sports and has played them his entire life, from growing up in Tallahassee, to West Point, and the Army. Now, his kids are immersed in sports: (hockey, basketball, swimming, and chess)
